At Miaoutable, we are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable privacy laws.

ARTICLE 1 – PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED

When you make a purchase from our store, as part of our buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you provide to us, such as:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Shipping and billing address
  • Phone number
  • Payment information (securely processed by our providers)

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, which allows us to obtain more details about the browser and operating system you are using.

Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, and other updates via our Klaviyo platform.

SMS marketing: By entering your phone number during your order, you agree to receive SMS messages (order tracking and abandoned cart recovery), as well as promotional offers via Klaviyo. SMS messages do not exceed 4 per month. You can unsubscribe at any time by sending STOP via SMS.

ARTICLE 2 - CONSENT AND LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

How do we obtain your consent?

When you provide us with your personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

  • Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): Request the deletion of your data
  • Right to restriction of processing: Limit the use of your data
  • Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured format
  • Right to object: Object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes
  • Right to withdraw your consent: At any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal

ARTICLE 4 – DATA RETENTION PERIOD

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Order data: 10 years (accounting and tax obligations)
  • Customer account data: 3 years after the last activity
  • Marketing data (email/SMS): 3 years after the last consent or interaction
  • Cookies and browsing data: Maximum 13 months

After these periods, your data is deleted or anonymized.

ARTICLE 5 – DISCLOSURE AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

International transfers: Our servers and some of our providers are located in Canada and the United States. Your data may therefore be transferred outside the European Union. These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses, Privacy Shield, etc.) to ensure an adequate level of protection.

ARTICLE 6 – SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our services and products to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

ARTICLE 7 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following third-party services that may collect and process your personal data:

Google Ads and Google Analytics:

  • Analysis of visitor traffic and behavior
  • Targeted advertising and remarketing
  • Conversion tracking and advertising performance

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us (notably in the United States and Canada). Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Our site uses cookies to improve your experience, analyze traffic, and display targeted advertisements.

Essential cookies (Shopify):

  • _session_id: Unique session identifier, allows Shopify to store information about your session
  • _shopify_visit: Persists for 30 minutes, used for statistics tracking
  • _shopify_uniq: Expires at midnight, calculates the number of unique visits
  • cart: Persists for 2 weeks, stores information about your shopping cart
  • _secure_session_id: Secure unique session identifier
  • storefront_digest: Used for accessing password-protected stores

Analytical and advertising cookies:

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _gid): Traffic analysis and visitor behavior (duration: 2 years)
  • Google Ads: Conversion tracking, remarketing, and targeted advertising (duration: 90 days)
  • Klaviyo: Email interaction tracking and personalization (duration: 1 year)
